Jun 28 Proof On Main

I'd read about Proof before we arrived in Louisville, but getting a recommendation blogger friend, Kristin Luna of Camels and Chocolate, sealed the deal.

Big windows lookout to downtown and warm natural light filled the restaurant in the early afternoon. We nestled into a cozy banquette and ordered the house brew and a refresher called the Reset Button.

Reset Button might be the best name for a Sunday brunch drink; it was just the punch of lemon, lime, bitters, and club soda I needed. Starved, we decided to go for some brunch comfort food: Hot Chicken and Sausage and Eggs.

Both dishes were delicious and hearty but not too much. Next time we have to try the warm banana walnut bread.

If you're staying at 21c, I'd recommend brunch after you check out of the hotel then spend the afternoon exploring the galleries before you head home.

Reservations are recommended. PS Proof's bar is stocked with 75 Kentucky Bourbons and is a proud stop on the Urban Bourbon Trail. Cheers!
